Trek for Timor raises over $50,000 for solar lighting

Needing at least $18,000 to fund a Village Lighting Project in East Timor, using solar lighting kits designed by the Alternative Technology Association, the Kangaroo Valley Remexio Partnership, came up with the idea of a Trek for Timor.

Show how you are taking action for a sustainable future and add your photo to the ATA Real People Living Sustainable Lives photo gallery.

Hundreds of ATA’s members have already contibuted photos to the gallery. There are photos of people on roofs with solar systems, in energy-efficient houses and demonstrating new approaches to water conservation.

Take action and tell the federal government that your voluntary actions to reduce your carbon emissions -such as installing solar power or choosing GreenPower- count.

Ask for changes to be made to the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme bills so that your efforts to reduce your carbon emissions do noty allow a big polluter to pollute more.
