What can we learn from Cuba?

When nearly 70% of Cuba’s oil supply ceased with the collapse the USSR in 1989, it had serious repercussions on transport, electricity and food production. Cuba responded by shifting to widespread use of renewables and permaculture-based agriculture systems.

The ATA is supporting a tour by Cuba’s leading Energy Efficiency and Renewables educator, Mario Alberto Arrastía Avila who is responsible for the development and delivery of energy education at all levels in Cuba.
