Some fascinating findings from Renew's solar system owners' survey.

Renew, formerly the Alternative Technology Association (ATA), conducted a survey of more than 1300 solar system owners across the country, and there were some fascinating findings.

The purpose of the Solar Experience – PV System Owners’ Survey was to evaluate individuals’ experience with their system purchase and operation, as well as to analyse the links between their renewable energy system and additional energy efficiency and energy conservation measures.

Not surprisingly, the survey found high rates of concern for climate change and other environmental issues amongst solar system owners, high levels of satisfaction with their systems and a strong correlation between the adoption of renewable energy and the uptake of energy efficiency and energy conservation measures.

The report also found the widespread view that additional incentives need to be offered in order to increase the uptake of renewable energy technologies by the broader community.
