ATA welcomes South Australian feed in tariffs
ATA congratulates the South Australian Government on its introduction of feed in tariffs for renewable energy but also calls for careful consideration when deciding upon the model.
As the first legislated feed in tariff model in Australia South Australia are setting the bench mark.
ATA highlighted in its submission to South Australia’s Feed-In Mechanism for Residential Small-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Installations that in order to promote the uptake of residential PV the following should be carefully considered:
- The introduction of gross production metering, as opposed to the proposed net export;
- A feed–in tariff of at least three times the retail rate and
- That the scheme offers feed-in rates to grid-connected solar PV system owners for at least 10 years
