Presentation – Two-seater Renewable Energy Vehicle
UniSA’s Two-seater Renewable Energy Vehicle (Trev) has been entered in the around-the-world Zero Race. See the Team Trev web site http://teamtrev.com/ for details.
Trev has travelled 3000 km from Darwin to Adelaide in the Global Green Challenge and Team Trev will join fellow electric vehicles in Zero Race—an 80 day trip around the world powered entirely by renewable energy.
The Zero Emissions Race, starting in June 2010, is the brainchild of Louis Palmer who in 2008 became the first person to drive a solar powered car, the Solartaxi, around the world. This global event is planned to stimulate worldwide public interest in zero emission transport, electric vehicle technology and renewable energy.
Andrew Dickson (Team Director) and Peter Pudney (Technical Manager) of Team Trev will explain the Trev project, the car’s design and the Zero Race.
Andrew is a project manager with large scale wind farm consultancy firm Wind Prospect. Peter is a mathematician with UniSA with a long hands-on association with electric vehicles and solar car racing.
Who Can Help Me?
There’s also a segment called:-
- Who Can Help Me – which is a chance to pose questions such as:
- Where can I buy it?
- How do I do it?
- Does anybody know about…?
If you have anything of interest to show and tell or an event to report during this segment, bring it along.
