The main problems perceived with renewable energy (and promoted by emissions intense industries) are that it too expensive, intermittent and unable to deliver firm reliable electrical generation capacity.
Dr Lehmann will present modelling scenarios showing how a strategic mix of renewable energy sources relevant to South Australia plus energy efficiency initiatives could in future deliver a one hundred percent renewable energy supply that matches daily and seasonal electricity demand.
Dr Lehmann has been invited to Adelaide to run a workshop on “Sketching a 100 % Renewable Electricity Supply Model for South Australia”. He will also present briefly at the “Clever Green Conference”. Dr Lehmann has over 25 years experience in developing sustainable energy policies and programs in Germany. Since 2004, he has been the General Director of the Federal Environmental Agency of Germany. Dr Lehmann has been involved in modeling scenarios that seek pathways towards 100% renewable electricity in Germany, Spain and Japan.
