Home Insulation – What’s Best for Southeast QLD?
Dennis Cooper is not only Brisbane branch treasurer, but also runs a recently-established company, Switch Power, which audits home energy use and helps people minimise that energy use. Col Thompson is another member of the Brisbane committee, and has had recent experience researching and installing insulation. Together, they will lead off the discussion, focusing in on ways of minimising heat entry, maintaining ventilation and reducing heat loss, to keep home occupants as comfortable as possible whilst minimising energy use.
The format for the evening:
7:30pm – 9:00pm:
* Welcome
* Brief presentations by Dennis Cooper, from Switch Power and Col Thompson (both ATA Brisbane
committee members)
* Facilitated discussion
* Brief break
* General meeting (including discussion of Branch’s participation at Greenfest, June 5-7)
9:00pm – ~9:30pm:
* Tea/coffee/nibbles/socialising
Pre-meeting Get-together
Note that prior to the meeting, members of the Brisbane ATA committee will be meeting from 5:45pm over a bite to eat at the nearby Albion Hotel (300 Sandgate Rd, Albion, 5 minutes walk from Peace Centre). The main agenda item will be brainstorming of ideas for the branch’s participation at Greenfest.
Other ATA members are most welcome to join us for the meeting. RSVP to Phil at phil_nicole@tpg.com.au would be appreciated.
