Branch Get Together 30th Nov 2008 – Elizabeth Island Trip

The trip started off with cold weather but improved as the day progressed.

34 hardy souls assembled at the Corinella boat ramp and were transported in groups across to Elizabeth island in a Zodiac (for those who don’t know this is an aluminium boat with an inflatable skirt – see some of the pictures below). This was an exciting part of the day – particularly when the “driver” put on speed.
At the island we were greeted by Anne Tillig who introduced us to a table she had set up laden with tea, coffee and home made cake.

When we were all present, Anne took us on a tour of her installations. This included a wind generator, PV panels on the roof, diesel back up, solar hot water etc. Once back at the house Anne then took us on a verbal tour of how she had installed all of the products and the numerous problems and the headaches she had suffered.

Subsequently we all sat together and had lunch, went for a walk around the island and generally soaked up the hospitality, atmosphere and friendship.

A fabulous day and a fabulous host. Thank you Anne Tillig and thank you Kapil Talwar for coordinating it all with your usual efficiency.
