Building a sustainable house in Tarragindi

Bruce Connell will be talking about building his sustainable home (see www.varleyconnell.net)

Bruce has for many years been involved in the publishing industry both as a journalist and a pre-press computer systems provider. On returning from a five-year stint in Singapore, he and his partner Carolyn decided to build a home for them and their two children in the leafy suburb of Tarragindi.

In exploring the options they came across a company called SALA Homes that sold kit homes which embodied many of their passions about sustainable housing. During the building of their home, Bruce took the step of changing career paths from the heady world of IT to take on the role of General Manager at SALA Homes. Life has not been the same since.

The format for the evening:

  • 7:30pm – presentation from Bruce Connell
  • 8:30pm – tea/coffee break
  • 8:45pm – brief Brisbane Branch General Meeting
