Cuba’s Energy Revolution
Based on a recent visit, Trevor Berrill will cover Cuba’s “Energy Revolution” and why it is of interest to us in developed countries. Cuba is the first country to have experienced an almost complete loss of oil supply when the former USSR collapsed in 1990 and is also feeling the impacts of climate change due to more severe cyclones. Trevor is a sustainable energy systems consultant and educator.

Solar Cooking
Stan Cadjler, from Sizzling Solar Systems, will overview the secret of solar cooking. Solar cooking is a simple and cheap method by which food can be cooked using sunshine as the fuel source. Stan will cover the various styles and types of cookers, outline the basic requirements of making your own and introduce you to other energy efficient non-solar DIY kitchen related devices.
