Presenter: Phil Little, CEO of Phil Little Sustainable Design Foundation

Phil’s presentation will outline his vision for a sustainable home that is not only zero-carbon but also off-grid, able to generate enough electrical power for the house and also able to charge the batteries of a plug-in electric car. Such a design tackles simultaneously the twin problems of greenhouse gas emissions and “peak oil”.

Since the 1970s, Phil Little has been at the forefront of the construction industry, with a primary focus on the implementation of environmentally-sustainable design principles. Over that period he has been a passionate advocate for building more ecologically sound communities.

This passion for sharing his visionary resolve has led to the creation of the Phil Little Sustainable Design Foundation. The foundation has endeavoured to create two models for off-site manufactured sustainable houses. It has also developed several sustainable villages, one of which was the first of its kind to be approved by the UN and the Australian Building Commission.
