Brisbane: Branch social meeting 31 January 2009
Hello everyone,
Happy New Year for what promises to be an interesting 2009!
As discussed at the November ATA meeting, the first get-together of the Brisbane ATA group for this year will be a social gathering at my place in Wilston. ATA members, friends and families are warmly invited to attend.
Attractions include:
* First and foremost, socialising and having fun with other branch members!
* Large backyard with a shady lawn, undercover area and swimming pool (completely fenced), as well as a chook pen, friendly dog, playground equipment and boule set (heavy-metal bowls) to keep children and maybe adults amused. Guests are also welcome to bring their togs, but of course children’s swimming will need to be supervised.
* Barbeque, with salads provided. Please BYO drinks, barbeque items (vegetarian can be catered for – please let me know) and any other food you wish to share.
* Sustainable house features to look at (including 1.5 kW PV system, solar hot water, 6000 L and 3000 L water tanks) plus opportunities to provide free advice on how to make the house more sustainable and further reduce the 100% green power bill
.
*** Technology “show and tell” (please feel free to BYO gadget or idea to talk about – optional; for example, I will be showing the solar hot water system shade cloth cover that I made for use whilst on holiday – to prevent dumping of water).
When: From 2:30 p.m., Saturday 31 January (N.B. Committee Meeting from 1:30 p.m.- new committee members welcome)
RSVP:
* Please let me know ASAP if you will be coming. Hope to see you there.
