Cairns branch – Earth Hour stalls – 27 March

When: Saturday 27th March, 2010
Time: volunteer from 5:30pm for a couple of hours
Where: Two sites – City Place, Lake St, Cairns and Gordonvale State School, 28 George St, Gordonvale
RSVP: 19th March

The Cairns branch has been invited to do two displays for Earth Hour 2010. One stall will be set up at City Place where there is a video competition and a free community showing of Wall-E. The other stall will be at Gordonvale State School where there is also an open air screening of Wall-E, a free light globe exchange and a battery recycling program (car batteries excluded).

Volunteering on either of these stalls will involve helping set up, talking to people about sustainable living and packing up the stall. If you would like to promote sustainable living and the ATA Cairns branch during Earth Hour, contact Daryl.

Future Events
Building energy display workshops
For later in the year, several schools have approached the branch with queries about building energy displays for them. This is a great opportunity for some workshops and an opportunity to get the meetings started again.
Other events
This year will be very busy with exhibitions and home shows, Envirofiesta, the Carnival on Collins, Sustainable House Day and an increasing involvement with schools. Get in touch with Daryl and put your name down to be part of the fun.
