Sydney Central: April 2008 Meeting
ATA Sydney Central presents “On the Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Project” by Josh Usher, UTS
According to Josh and his team, “Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are the next logical step in the evolution of the automobile. With most of the major car companies having already developed a prototype vehicle, it is only a matter or time before we see them on our roads. This step change in technology has the potential to radically impact on both the efficiency of our vehicles and the way we think about energy. This presentation will talk about the details of converting a Toyota Prius to a PHEV along with the broader implication of large scale adoption of PHEV technology.”
Josh Usher is a Research Consultant at the Institute for Sustainable Futures based out of the University of Technology Sydney with past experience in assisting with the development of a variety of renewable energy technologies and analysing the long term financial sustainability of publicly traded companies. Josh is also the president of the NSW chapter of Engineers Without Borders.
