In light of the hazards posed by home-brewing of biodiesel (see topic in this forum http://www.ata.org.au/forums/topic/480), I think I am asking if the costs of collecting bushland residential waste could cover the production costs of biodiesel in an area more suitable than these high-fire-risk neighbourhoods. This is not the same as asking whether this industry is commercially-profitable: maybe it is time to think now about how to subsidize activities where the primary aim is making our lifestyles low-CO2 emission.
