Just a heads up this one looks like it will be landing at Brisbane.
If you are in Sydney or Melbourne transport can be separately arranged although it also looks like next month we will have one to Sydney / Melb anyway.Posted Thursday 10 Feb 2011 @ 5:26:37 am from IP # -
UPDATE:
ok, at the moment we have a tentative 458 panels (Inc Swanning_It 2nd lot)
The links for both suggested panels are up and links can be got from me dec@inevitablesolar.com. Prices are in the email as well.
We can only really determine the final price once we know who is in and who is out.
BUT to help you get an idea I will snapshot it as is on saturday so you can see.I think we should put in a decision day for these as next Tuesday. most so far have said they are happy with either. I'm impartial either way.

mmmmmm, I handed this over to a 'specialist' in group buying in the interests of getting the best deal for you guys but it appears not to have moved an inch. If there is enough interest still I'll be happy to reinstate my offer to organise it. We have a container of 190w mono coming in so the process is going to much simpler than before. (thank god)
If the momentum has dried up then I'll be happy to know....we tried!!!!!

"If the momentum has dried up then I'll be happy to know....we tried!!!!!"
I have a sneaky feeling that it has sadly died a quiet death, the momentum that is!!!

Has this finished? I was eagerly awaiting the final costings of the exercise. If it was Cheap enough and the quality was there with appropriate manufacturers backing I may have been able to push this to some of our customers looking for value.

I'm waiting for one of the major purchasers to find out if he has the go-ahead for his project. He's buying a large enough percentage to decide if we go 20' or a 40'. Email me and I'll forward you specs.

My momentum has been subdued by Energex. I can't buy 160 panels without their OK to connect to the grid. So far they've got as far as sending the application to the major solar section (taken about a month so far), and I'm now in a queue to have the Energex facilities checked for suitability. I did get a call last Monday to tell me that would be done within 10 and 20 working days (2 weeks to a month). The issue apparantly is their padmount may not be able to accept that amount of solar as a back feed and they may "need" to charge an upgrade levy.
Sounds like rubbish to me. Our street has two padmounts and over 100 houses. Say they're equally divided per padmount, which means 50+ houses per padmount is entitled to grid connect 1.5kW....or 75kW total. We know that's not likely, so why can't 1 house connect 30kW (also given our house is the only one in the whole street suitable for mounting 160 panels on), given the kW/h output probably only accounts for say max. 15 houses so over the 50 odd houses connected, the generated energy from all the solar connected (mine and others) probably doesn't even touch the transformer. With the solar production marginally leading the grid supply, theoretically the solar will be used first by the individual installations fed by that transformer, which has the exact effect that localised solar is best for......keeping down the need for grid upgrades.
I've got the feeling they use this "upgrade levy" to stymie solar wherever they can, but we'll see, they just may surprise me!

Im in Melbourne a direct PV importer will sell at trade/wholesale CEC approved 190 watt Monocrystal PVs ex Melbourne, for $1.85 per watt, plus GST.($387 each with GST)
min order of 50 panels, maybe some Melbourne ATA members can get together and purchase min of 50 panels, all we need is to orginise transport or a central pick up point.
Any interest send me a email will make further enquirys, Melbourne only people as its too much hassle to orginise transport ect ect.Posted Wednesday 9 Mar 2011 @ 11:52:09 pm from IP # -
