Good link. Always wondered what happened to my exports.
The alternate is to maximise your power use at home while the sun is shining and be frugal after dark. Then you know who is getting the benefit, you. That's what I think I'll do. I have a battery backed system so night lighting, TV, computer is easily handled.

Until there is some sort of critical amount of green power purchases all you are doing is getting a warm fussy feeling.

petanque,
Interesting thought.. that's probably what the general population said about cars in the late 19th century and computers in the 1980's. The rest is history.
All new ideas are usually frowned upon by the masses, but they have to have a start somewhere.
Usually good ideas start small, develop, improve and stand the test of time.Posted Friday 24 Jul 2009 @ 1:32:51 pm from IP # -
I've got absolutely NO IDEA what the explanation means and I think I'm informed!! The only consistency I see is it's total infathomability!! Can someone please explain this with definitions in plain English? Arrggghhhh!!!!!

I think what petanque is saying unless the majority of electricity consumers are using green power, we are all wasting our time. I disagree as all new ideas start small initially, and volume builds as the idea matures.
My explanation is pretty straight forward..
If everyone sits on the fence waiting for the critical mass of any new product which comes to market (and no-one jumps on the bandwagon early on), then nothing new will ever be developed (including cars and computers).
Luckily there are pioneers in all forms of products which come to market.
