DW,
I am in Brisbane and installed a Hills evacuated tube solar system. Apricus make an almost identical model.
I find if you call the head office, and ask for a list retailers/plumbers who sell them in your local area is a good way to go.

DW, Vendor for the one I am considering is selling on ebay with link as below:
Vendor ebay name is "navuvu". He has phone number and email address on the listing as well. This system is a heat exchange type with storage tank at low pressure.
Have seen some other variants come up from time to time with tank at mains pressure and heat pipe evacuated tubes however none are showing up tonight.
I also see member Sun2steam is suggesting that they can supply similar units (see earlier post this thread). It should be clear that I am looking to use this system to "preheat" water going through the Saxon Heatpump and you would need to satisfy yourself that the performance of a "heat exchange" type system will give you the performance that you need as the experience of some people with the 400L Saxon HP has not met their expectation (earlier posts this thread as well).
Thanks Sunshine & ec175. I contacted Hills themselves on the Esteem Solar HWS and they told me that they do not have a cyclone rated mounting suitable for these northern areas and hence as a result do not have a distributor for me to use. So out of luck with this one by the looks.
ec175, thanks for the link to the system on eBay, I never really looked here to be honest, but might pay a bit more attention now.
I will look back in post at Sun2steam's comments.
Cheers
Interesting that nothappyjan referred to the NSW supplier being The Plumbing Doctor Newcastle.
I rang Saxon directly and was put in touch with Eclipse Solar. This company is actually based and registered for business in Queensland, not NSW.
As far as the unit itself goes, it is unreliable and will soon be removed.
It is about to have it's 5th service call out in just a few months.
The compressor was service twice before eventually being replaced, but now it has also gone faulty and needs attention.
After the quickest of showers, it runs for about 2 hours to re-heat the water.
A 400 litre unit was put in to replace a 125 litre electric system which never ran out of water.
We are a small family in an apartment, so overuse of water is not the reason.
The service centre doesn't work weekends and they knock off early. The after hours number puts you through to an answering machine that no one monitors outside of Brisvegas working hours.
There has never been a follow up call, nor has there been any apology or offer of compensation for the excessive power that their product has chewed through as it ran almost 24/7.
I am happy to support the local Aussie product, but they have to give us good reason to do so. Saxon do not deserve to be supported by consumers as they do nothing more than the bare minimum to support their customers.
By all means, buy Australian. Just don't buy a Saxon.
Sounds like these products were an 'avoid', and now the company has gone under...the sachs.com.au website now shows the following;
