my supplier is Country Energy , I rang today to enquire whether the meter I had would be reset for Gross FIT on 1st January and they said Gross FIT had not been passed by State Government yet, they had no knowledge of whether the meter could be adjusted or would have to be replaced , by them or someone else , and who would pay for it me or them . the Net FIT meter was no charge
Does anyone have any further information on this
thanks
Wrocsoe

No specific info - but some general info.
You need two meters for a gross FIT - One measures your exported power , the other measures your imported power.
I think they would have to be separate boxes or the meters and thier electrical connections physically separated in the same box.

A single meter could be used. Some interval meters have two connections, allowing both imported and exported power to be measured on the same meter. I've seen a United Energy (Victoria) diagram showing wiring diagrams for a single meter being connected as either gross or net metering.

Energy Australia told me that a bi-directional meter would be capable of providing appropriate information for a gross FIT. This doesn't sound right to me but they were insistent that it would be fine. I am just in the research phase so I haven't progressed the meter change since then.

It is a bit of a worry that Country Energy are giving you that information when the legislation was passed 2 weeks ago. I am not sure about the meters.
