I am new to this forum. I'm a postgrad student studying home energy conservation.
Would any of you happen to have access to devices that communicate with smart meters?
I am to run an energy use experiment later this year (sept 2017 to march 2018) which will capture half-hourly electricity use in near real time. For this I need selected homes to get installed a home energy display I have made. It will however, rely on a device that can talk to the home smart meter since such devices need certification by networks and I don't have this for my own devices.
I believe only a small number of smart meter compatible readers are certified by the networks such as the Raven by Rainforest Automation. My software will talk to the Raven, for example.
Before I go out and buy 35 of these with public money I would be very keen to know if I can borrow, rent or buy second hand any Raven or similar devices among ATA people?
Please get back to me if you have any ideas or any other feedback!
