Great news, folks! Our first electricity bill since we powered up our PVs on February 19 arrived today. Well, it's sort of good and not-so-good news.
First the good news. Our 2.09 kW system produced 310 kWh in the 36 days we had them in the billing period, that's 47% of the total electricity we used in just 38% of the period.
The not-so-good news is that the feed in tariff of 66c per kWh is not being paid to us because the meters aren't available as yet. So we earned only $70 in offsets @ 22.66c per kWh, instead of around $205.
I have contacted the NSW Electricity Ombudsman and requested them look into the legislation to see if we have recourse. I argued that our inverter has the amount exported and so it is easy to work out hat we should be paid! It's very frustrating to think we have to pay $117 instead of them paying us about $18!!
We averaged 8.6 kWh in those 36 days, close to my predictions of 8.9 kWh. We used 7 kWh per day. It's gonna be a tough challenge to keep it low in winter.
