I need some design assignments for my engineering students (Mechanical, Robotics & Mechatronics and Product Design) for semester two in a subject called Mechanical Systems Design run at Swinburne University.
If you have a something that you reckon would be good for them to work on, then I would be interested. They get a taste of realism and you get some engineering expertise.
The process works like this:
1. The students choose a topic by 20 August
2. They then find the requirements of the related system (based on interviews and market research etc.) and the project
3. The students choose a strategy/method to develop the design
4. The students implement the strategy and write a report on the outcome (you will get a copy of this) to be submitted on 22 October
5. Each students then writes a review of their experience based on feedback that they get from other students on their report.
We can get all students involved do Sign an NDA. We have done this before in the past with other companies.
Also, please be aware that the students will need to be able to speak with you and that it is a good idea to ensure everyone is clear on what is to be delivered.
