Hi all,
We have been helping a school look at their energy use and one of their issues is a large oddly shaped room that they are struggling to cool. It has north windows (that they have tinted) and they have an old evaporative cooling system that staff feel is not working well.
Can anyone recommend good commercial cooling specialists for this type of job?

Do the windows have external shading like wide eaves or angled blinds? That would be the first thing to do. Tinting varies in the amount of heat it excludes, so just because a window is tinted, doesn't mean that it will be blocking much heat.

Hi Lance,
Thanks for this reply and advice. The windows do have eaves but they don't appear to be the right ones as there is still a lot of heat gain. We would really love to find/recommend a specialist that could approach this from an EE perspective -eg look at eaves/shading before looking to upgrade the cooling system.
Can anyone recommend someone who has this approach? From what we can see, organisations are either shade specialists or cooling specialists.

I work from that perspective, but would need lots more information. Especially photos.
Depending on where you are , I could help out , but if you are not close to Byron Bay you should be able to find another local designer/architect up to that challenge.
Initial question are of course.. what is the budget, what are the aims,what are the constraints and are there existing plans available ?
