I was thinking the same! (actually $24 500 was my thought).
It seems there is still room to move with solar installations, so the decrease in the REC multiplier shouldn't be an issue.
It would be nice though, to see an increase in the green loan.

I find it a bit frustrating that generally solar installers don't break down the costs of a system.
Sure companies need to make some sort of margin on all the components, but i'm sure in some cases it can be quite high (especially of companies/installers that buy panels by the container load).
Wow, I feel so much better now....hahaha!
I know that there’s an interesting Latvian company named http://www.marrka.lv offering a wide range of product, try it i have found some interesting products there.
I found no product there.....just speels....or do we have to be members?
Given that you joined this forum 20 hours ago and posted the preceeding post 20 hours ago (a post that is blatantly advertising your company), may I ask why you believe you should be permitted to advertise whilst others are not?
I think the moderators have been clear in asking people who wish to advertise their business, to do so through Re-New or Sanctuary magazines..........
OK I am new to this forum, I have read the articles and refer approx 4 mths ago about Choice etc which makes me more confused, I was looking at installing Suntech Pluto205-Ade panels, but they are in short supply from the factory in China, I then looked at Sunpower and they say there panels are more efficient than suntech, where does one go to get the truth? unless you download all of the data and compare line for line. Is there a web site that does this? it's somewhat akin to the big argument Holden vs Ford.
I'm not aware of a comparison web site, but that doesn't mean there isn't one!
The amount of new product hitting the market all the time would make a site like that difficult to be current and useful. Really, it comes down to your own research. Start with the test certificate. Then use that data to compare panels. Others have alternate views, but I consider efficiency only relevant if you are tight on roof area, with the STC rated wattage, temperature degradation on output and price being the primary factors to consider. IV curves are useful but as all grid tie (I'm assuming you propose a grid tie system) inverters have fairly efficient MPPT, then they are also not so relevant (but good to compare dissimilar panels like crystalline, amorphous, CIGS, Cadmium telluride etc).
Warranty is also something to consider, but for me personally, I can't see how it could be even remotely feasible to attempt to claim on a reduced output in 20 years time. Unless you had a very sympathetic supplier (if they are still around then), you'd have to either have immaculate records of 20 years worth of data or pay for testing to prove the output had dropped below 80% of STC rating. Testing does not come cheap and the rate technology is changing, the replacement panels would most likely not be worth it. That's my assessment anyway, but as I said, others will no doubt have other thoughts.
Good luck with your choice.
The concept of efficiencies is by and large a nonsense. If the manufacturer claims a 12% better than others efficiency, is it offering the extra output at the same price? I don't think so! At the end of the day the best comparison is compare the price per watt installed. If it's 10kwh of panels for $40,000, it's $4 per watt. It's the only way to cross reference dissimilar products; find the lowest common denominator. If they are selling panels without at least 3 bi-pass diodes, add an extra 25% to their quote to make up for the lost production due to the system shutting down every time a bird or leaf casts a shadow over any part of the array.
Also check the fine print of their warranty document. The new REC panels from Singapore claim in their spec sheet to be tolerant from 0 to +3%, however their warranty states that it will assume -5%. In other words, their true warranty is 85% for the first 10 years and 75% for the remaining 15 years. They also have a a remedy to warranty a financial settlement which is based not on your costs, but their factory gate price at time of manufacture, and is depreciated by 4% per annum. In other words, the company believes their product will be worthless in 25 years and so will your warranty claims!
Always look at the fine print.
AaronT,
I think you will find that their is massive competition between companies in the 1.5 - 3.0kw market. From my experience, most of these companies are not making much on the smaller systems. It will be intersting to see what happens when the Rec's are locked in at $40.00 in Jan and the Aussie $ reaches Parody & beyond.
