The Topic will be – How To Select a Car for Conversion
The start of any conversion involves a decision on which car to convert. This can be very confusing. Should it be a small, light weight vehicle? Should it be a load carrier for the batteries. Should it be front or rear drive, auto or manual? How about aerodynamics etc etc. Whilst there will be plenty of information from the speakers this will be a meeting where we are hoping to stimulate audience participation to see what factors those who have already made the decision used.
Speakers:
Michael Jacombs
Michael has already been through this process and will share some of his considerations in selecting a Toyota Camry.
Richard Mason
Richard owns a motor wrecking business in Wangarratta and will cover some of the more physical things to look for in a car (and maybe some of the cars to avoid)
Rhys Freeman
Rhys was one of the drivers in getting CERES into the electric vehicle business. He is now on the Energy and Vehicles Projects team at CERES and is the person specifically responsible for their electric vehicle programme. When CERES were picking their first vehicle they formed a group who went through a very rigorous process – Rhys will explain this and indicate if it was the correct way to go.
Please Note – For all of those people who cannot get to the meeting – we will be trialling a web stream of it. If would like to watch it on your computer log in to http://www.blogtv.com/People/clintsteele.
