ATA survey: What soaps and shampoos enter your greywater?
Do you want to know which soaps and shampoos are safe for greywater reuse? So do we!
The ATA is conducting an online survey into what soaps, shampoos, conditioners and body washes ATA members are using who irrigate their gardens with bathroom greywater. This information will inform the basis of further study that ATA and RMIT Environmental Science Department are conducting into the physical properties in everday bathroom products in an attempt to determine which bathroom products are suitable for use in greywater irrigation.
As many people are aware, excessive sodium, phosphorus and other chemicals found in many bathroom and laundry products have the potential to build up in soil environments and cause long-term soil structure damage. This project will help people choose the most suitable cleaning products to use in greywater.
