Built for the Bush celebrates traditional rural building customs and shows how they have inspired contemporary sustainable housing. Settler practices of earth, timber and iron construction, water conservation and passive solar controls are now lauded for their energy efficiency.
These old ways are now informing a new generation of green architecture.
An exhibition from the NSW State Cultural Instituitions and produced by the Historic Houses Trust www.hht.net.au
ReNew magazine is proud to be a supporter of Built for the Bush as it tours regional Australia in 2010.
