Order of Australia for Alan Pears
Long-time ATA Supporter and ReNew policy columnist Alan Pears has been awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Queens Birthday Honour List. Alan has been recognised “for service to the environment through the development of policy and design in the fields of energy efficiency and sustainability and through public awareness programs.” Alan has been instrumental in driving energy efficiency in Australia including the energy star rating program and mandatory building insulation.
This award is well-deserved with Alan working in the sustainable energy and environment fields since the late 1970s for community groups, government and the private sector. From our point of view Alan’s commitment to the ATA and other community groups has been immense, from writing DIY articles or his regular column in ReNew to donating his time as a speaker. Congratulations Alan Pears AM!
