Wind generator charge controller kit
If you are the sort of person who likes to make your own renewable energy equipment, then chances are you have built yourself a wind turbine. But once you have a wind generator, how do you control the charge going into the batteries?
This new kit from Oatley Electronics, which combines all the necessary functions for charging 12 and 24 volt batteries from a wind generator, could be the solution. It is a three-phase regulator designed to handle up to 300 watts or more, and includes a three-phase rectifier, 12/24 volt charger regulator, and a back EMF braking system for the wind generator when the batteries are fully charged. There is also provisions for disabling the back EMF braking, but in this case an external alternative load would need to be provided. The kit includes all the components to make a working controller but does not include a case.
