Renewable electricity rebates

There are no state renewable electricity rebates. Click here to see federal renewable electricity rebates. Alternatively, Northern Territorian company Power and Water will buy RECs from state residents through their Power Purchase Agreement. For more information click here.

Energy rebates

Rebate Amount A 50% rebate (up to $200) on purchase and installation of selected devices including power boards, energy efficient light globes, timers, power usage meters, and fridge and freezer seals. For full list click here.
Additional Information The Energy Smart Rebate scheme could save you up to $300 a year when you use the energy-saving items on its approved list.

Water rebates

Rebate type NT Waterwise Central Australia Rebate Scheme
Eligible Renewable technology/item Water saving products and plumbing
Applicable sector Households in Alice Springs & Tennant Creek
Rebate amount Up to $50 on small water saving products from participating retail outlets, including:

  • Low flow shower rose (3-star plus)
  • Flow controller
  • Hose trigger nozzle
  • Garden timer tap

Up to $150 on large products including:

  • Washing machine (4-star plus)
  • Swimming pool cover (SAWM)

Up to $150 on toilet products and $200 on toilet retrofits(Limited offer).The rebates cover the purchase of a new dual flush toilet (4-star or higher) and installation of the toilet to replace an older model.

Up to $150 on indoor plumbing.

Services including: fixing leaking taps and toilets, installing flow regulators/aerators on bathroom or kitchen taps, and installing low flow shower roses(3 star WELS rating or higher). Plumber must be licensed and have GreenPlumber training.

Up to $500 on outdoor plumbing.

Services including: connecting a rainwater tank (over 1000 litres) to a household hot water system, toilet, washing machine, air-conditioner or to supplement household drinking water supplies. Installation of a greywater system.
Plumber must be licensed and have GreenPlumber training.
