Solar hot water rebates

Rebate type Solar and Heat Pump Hot Water Rebate Scheme
Eligible renewable technology/item Solar hot water systems.
Applicable sector The rebate provides a one-off payment of $500 per solar and heat pump hot water system for Hobart ratepayers who are ineligible for Hobart Council’s current planning and building administration fee rebate.
Rebate amount $500
Additional information To be eligible for the rebate, the solar hot water system had to be purchased and installed between the 1 July 2007 and 31 December 2011, while the heat pump hot water system between 1 November 2008 and 31 December 2011. The system must be installed on the property and by a currently registered plumber.

Insulation rebates

Rebate amount 30% the total cost of the installed insulation up to a maximum of $300.
Additional information Will be provided to landlords installing eligible ceiling insulation into an uninsulated or poorly insulated rental property built prior to 1991.

Energy efficient homes rebates

Rebate type Hobart Council Energy Efficient Development Rebate
Eligible renewable technology/item Energy efficient houses.
Applicable sector Households
Rebate amount Hobart City Council offers a 100% rebate on Council’s basic planning fee*, and the building and plumbing administration fees where sound and permanent energy efficient principles and features are incorporated into the planning and design of new houses and additions to existing houses.
Additional information The rebates are paid following final building inspection, the issue of a certificate of completion, and only if it has been demonstrated that the criteria have been complied with.
