Don’t miss your opportunity to hear Anne Pearson, the CEO of the Australian Energy Market Commission, speak on Changes and Developments to our Electrical Grid and System on April 18 at Melbourne University.
The event is organised by the Alternative Technology Association’s (ATA) Melbourne Branch with assistance from the university’s Energy Transition Hub and the Australian-German Climate and Energy College.
Anne will discuss the pivotal role the AEMC occupies in changing how the power system is managed in response to the changing generation mix and replacement of traditional coal-fired generation with renewable sources.
She will speak about maintaining energy security and reliability of the power system, including when unexpected breakdowns occur, as well as the AEMC’s role in supporting informed debate, engagement and impartiality.
She will also touch on the Federal Government’s National Energy Guarantee.
The AEMC is the expert energy policy adviser to Australian governments. Its role is to make and revise the energy rules and provide advice. Anne Pearson was appointed CEO of the organisation in February 2016. Before then she was the AEMC’s senior director, market development.
